One could be the father/mother of your Wm. born 1805. This family were members of Hopewell Frederick. Listed a Benj. Pugh married on 6 Jul 1795 by the Baptist. a Job Pugh charged with neglected meeting on 2 May 1796. I would first tried to get a death record in Iowa, copy of his marriage bond, then through land deed perhaps narrow down the year he removed from VA to Iowa. Then you can find out more information about the above Pugh on the 1810 census. The family removed from Chester Co. PA to VA. One of the emigrates was a John Pugh born 16 Dec 1688 in Wales died 24 Jan 1687 East Chester Co. PA.
