Surnames: Pool, Poole, McLunn, Triplett Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/gAC.2ACE/2706.1 Message Board Post: I didn't find a death item in my books for Elizabeth. I would suspect that Elizabeth is the mother of Samuel McClung's wife? "Frederick County Marriages" by Vogt & Kethley p. 396 Poole, Mary Jane & Samuel W. McClun, 26 Dec 1843; minister John Allemong "Frederick County Marriage Bonds" by Hackett & Good p. 256 (date is date of bond, usually a few days to 3 weeks or so before the wedding - curious thast these were months apart, but another bond is taken out in Dec. - Was marriage postponed? Why? Why different bondsmen?) 1 Apr 1843, Samuel McLunn & Mary Jane Poole, upwards of 21 years of age. Bondsman, Robert Christy. "Frederick County Marriage Bonds" by Hackett & Good p. 258 26 Dec 1843, Samuel McLun & Mary Jane Pool., bondsman Mathew Royston ************ I don't know if this woman is related to Mary Jane or not. "Frederick County Marriages" by Vogt & Kethley p. 395 Poole, Elizabeth & Edwin S. Triplett, 28 Oct 1840, s of Nathaniel B. & Mary Henry Triplett, d of Joseph & Elizabeth McGinnis Poole. H&G list Joseph as bondsman. Your Elizabeth would have been born about 1775, so perhaps these were her children? This may not be your Elizabeth Poole though....... There is a William Poole m. Sarah Marpole, 29 Dec 1803 (V&K p, 185), but no record of Joseph Pool(e) & Elizabeth McGinnis. ************** If the Poole/Triplett is a connection....... "Historical Records of Of Frederick County, VA" by Dr. WIlmer Kerns p. 251 Reference to Isabella Catherine Triplett, (1842-1932) daughter of Edwin S. & Elizabeth Poole Triplett. Isabella m. Abraham Kackley McDonald. (HRoFCV) p. 48 "Clyne, Abraham (Kline), b. Oct 13, 1807 wa illegitimate son of Susan S. Kaine. He was given to the Overseers of the Poor to be bound to Joseph C. Poole, to become a shoemaker, Jan 3, 1823." So Joseph Poole would have been a shoemaker in 1823????
