I do not know if your Thomas Jackson filed a will or not. If he did not file a will, then you will need to read the land deeds about the time he died, to see if a executor report or estate division was filed. Also to check census records. Also you will want to view the wills in the location where Thomas Crampton died. Perhaps he named as heirs his grandchildren. Good luck with your research.
