They may have all been connected at one time, but no one has connected them yet. There are the Augusta/Nicholas Co., VA/WV family which settled near Summersville, Nicholas Co., now WV. This line claims to be of English descent. My wife's line that settled in Monongalia/Preston Co. VA/WV and Garrett Co., MD and located only about 30 miles from my family who were originally in Winchester, Frederick Co., VA. and moved to western part of the county which evolved into Hampshire/Hardy/Grant (WV). One family remained in Hardy/Grant County and the rest migrated "west". They seemed to stop in Lewis, Gilmer, Braxton and Calhoun Counties of WV before some of them did truly migrate West.
