Named her children, evidence of her maiden name. 1. son Robert to have the lot in Winchester, Lot #78, willed to her by her father the late Benj. RUTHERFORD. 2. daughter Elizabeth Glass, gift of slaves: Hannah & her child Lucinda. 3. son Thomas Glass gift of slave Harrison (son of Hannah). 4. son Benj. already has his portion of her estate The marriage bond between Samuel Glass & Elizabeth Rutherford is not found in Vogt's Marriage Bond Book. The will of Benj. Rutherford probated 6 May 1805 names as his only heir Elizabeth GLASS wife of Samuel. I have abtracted the wills of Frederick Co. VA Book 1-9 covering the years 1743-1816 . There was another couple Samuel & Elizabeth Glass about the same age group. Their marriage also not listed in Vogt's book. His Samuel was the son of Robert & Sarah (Fulton) Glass & his wife the daughter of Robert WILSON. Their children were: 1. Sarah Glass 2. Samuel F. Glass 3. Benj. Glass 4. Robert Glass 5. Elizabeth Glass 6. Thomas Glass These two different couples & their children could get mixed together.
