Taft Mildred Giffin “Sister” Taft, 94, of Winchester, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, in a local nursing home. Mrs. Taft was born March 18, 1912, in Capon Bridge, W.Va., the daughter of Ira H. and Lillian Johnson Giffin Wood. She was a homemaker and a member of Capon Bridge Christian Church. Her husband, Henry J. Taft, died March 2, 1960. Surviving are two nephews, Alan Williamson of Proctorville, Ohio, and Ronald Giffin of Capon Bridge. A funeral will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Giffin Funeral Home, Capon Bridge, with the Rev. Herman Goede officiating. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery near Gore. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Pallbearers will be Richard Racey, Douglas DeHaven, Tom Pugh, Alan Williamson, Lucas Giffin, and Jerry Giffin
