The MORGAN family is found in early Frederick County, Virginia. If you could find their marriage bond, perhaps Margaret MORGAN's father's name may be on it. I checked "Frederick County Marriage Records 1772-1823" Volume 1 by Sidney Marie FEATHERS (2003) finding no listing for a marriage between Margaret MORGAN and an Abner COPELAND. I then checked "1815 Directory of Virginia Landowners" for COPELANDs in Shenandaoh, Frederick, Rockingham, Fauquier, and Loudoun Counties of Virginia only finding COPELANDs in Loudoun County, Virginia. There was Andrew COPELAND located 1 mile East of the Blue Ridge; 15 miles northwest of the county courthouse at Leesburg. James COPELAND at Short Hill; 13 miles northwest of Leesburg and another James COPELAND 1 mile south of Short Hill; 12 miles west of Leesburg. A Richard COPELAND was located 4 miles south of Short Hill; 11 miles west of Leesburg. Checking "Abstracts of Frederick County, Virginia Wills, Inventories & Accounts 1743-1816: by Dee Ann Buck (2004) that covers Will Book 1 through 9, there are no COPELANDs listed. I also checked "What I Know About Winchester" by William Greenway RUSSELL (1800-1891) where no COPELANDs were mentioned for the town. Checking Shenandoah County, Virginia Marriage Bonds 1772-1853" by the Genealogical Society of Utah there are only an Mary J. and Sarah Ann COPELIN (spelled like that) and a Isabella COPELON (spelled like that) and a Isaac and Joseph and James COPELIN/COPLIN.
