So the originial records for their issue would be in SC or GA or elsewhere. I do not plan to run off any more copies of my Tabulated Genealogy of Robert MacKay. Which would have what I know about the issue of said George & Hannah. Living in Scotland I do not know how you can rent a copy of it. Handley Library in Winchester, VA does rent out their copy. So I have been told. The other book I have that you might want being a descend of Robert MacKay Sr. would be the Fairfax Land Suit. I have two copies left, after they are sold, I will not run off anymore copies. A copy can be found on film through the L.D.S. library system. The cost of my book would be $21.00 plus $7.00 tax. Send US currency. My address: Dee Ann Buck 10814 Paynes Church Drive Fairfax, VA 22032 Good luck with your research. P.S. I believe George remained a member of Quaker community in SC & GA, so you will find information about his family in those records. Hinshaw as abtracted that information into his books. All can be found on film through the L.D.S. library. You can check L.D.S. library on line to see location and books and film they have to rent on line Familysearch.org.

Beard "Nottingham Quakers 1680-1889." Some of my ancestors that lived in Frederick Co. VA came down from PA/MD in early 1740's. They were members of various Quaker Meeting Houses. But I would first start with Jefferson Co. WV.

FYI - from the latest issue of Family Tree Newsletter SECURITY BILL COULD THREATEN RECORDS ACCESS A sweeping antiterrorism bill that's making its way through Congress with lightning speed has genealogists worried about records access. HR 10--a.k.a. the 9/11 Recommendations Implementation Act-- was introduced by Rep. Dennis Hastert (R-Ill.) on Sept. 24. It passed the House 282 to 134 votes last Friday, and now heads to the Senate. Among its provisions, the bill would create a National Intelligence Director, National Counterterrorism Center and Joint Intelligence Community Council; change immigration laws; and impose regulations on state records--which is where genealogy comes in. Section 3603 of HR 10 would require states to "restrict public access to birth certificates and information gathered in the issuance process to ensure that access is restricted to entities with which the State has a binding privacy protection agreement," and "subject all persons with access to vital records to appropriate security clearance requirements." Go to http://thomas.loc.gov and type in HR 10 to see the entire bill and get status updates. Should genealogists be worried that states will comply with the provision by cutting off public records access entirely? "I think just about any genealogist is willing to agree that access to birth certificates should carry with it reasonable restrictions to prevent those certificates from being used in any criminal manner," says Jim Beidler, Pennsylvania liaison for the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS) Records Preservation and Access Committee. "However, the unreasonable part of this bill is when its logic is expanded beyond its limits under the umbrella of 'vital records.' HR 10 as currently written goes far further than needed for the protection of Americans." Brian Anderson, commissioner of New York City's department of records, doesn't think the legislation would affect the archival birth and death certificates his office keeps. "But," he adds, "how this will impact later birth records and my [department's] ultimately obtaining more recent years will remain to be seen. Sounds like one for the lawyers." FGS (http://www.fgs.org) urges family historians to contact their senators and request that the bill make specific exceptions for uncertified copies of birth certificates, as well as birth records older than 100 years. The contention over HR 10 is the latest in a series of events spurring genealogists to write politicians. Visit the E-Mail Update Archives at http://www.familytreemagazine.com/newsletter/ archive.html to read more in these newsletters: * Oct. 23 and Nov. 20, 2003: An Ohio county health department seizes microfilmed birth records from a library; the state considers recalling microfilmed records. * April 3, 2003: Massachusetts doubles fees. * May 15, 2003: Ohio hikes fees and outlaws uncertified copies. * April 24, 2003: Texas legislation threatens to restrict access. * Dec. 6 and 13, 2001: RootsWeb removes several states' databases; California temporarily stops selling vital records.
If anyone has a published book for marriages for Fredrick County for late 1700's early 1800's I would appreciate a look-up for Rightmire...any spelling....Thanks in advance...Alice

The other Wilson who signed in the right column: John Wilson & Deborah Wilson. I believe this group of Wilson tied to the Job/Jobe family of above location in PA. Thomas Job signed in the groom & bride column. He was born in Nottingham Co. PA and died 13 Aug 1805 Berkeley Co. VA/WV. He married Charity Rees and was the son of Archibald & Margaret (Rees) Jobe. His Jobe "we" have back to the emigrate. I am rather sure you will find the emigrate father of Thomas Wilson among the Quakers of PA/MD. Would be Benj. Wilson born Jun 1727 Armley, Yorkshire, England, died Jan 1798 East Nottingham, Cecil Co. MD. He was the son of Thomas & Margaret Wilson. He was married to Lydia Jobe and they had 13 children. You should be able to purchase Hopewell Friends, the books by Hinshaw and other compiled books dealing with the Quakers of MD & PA. Also the originial Quaker records can be rented on film through L.D.S. library. Good luck with your research.

Our John lived until 1783---have a copy of his will from the Greene Co. Ohio library. John's son, Jacob, husband of Mary FRITZ, is our line which came to Clark Co. Ohio eventually. Our John is the John WILSON of page 82-3 in O' Dell's book. Know that "wife one" was evidently "not" Mary MARQUIS---been on this hunt for a number of year. However, who was his first wife? Know that last wife was mother of some of his 14 children---and mother of last child, Isaac. Am now hunting for Quaker records---have seen that our John WILLSON was part of Hopewell Meetings. Can anyone help with any of this.

I believe her father was Thomas Wade. There is a Wadesville in the area. This Pyle family lived in the Pylestown, Millwood and Boyce area of Clarke County until my grandmother’s death in 1988. William Pyle’s son, William Franklin Pyle, married Johanna Ferguson whose parents are Josiah and Susan Catherine Peyton Ferguson from Paris in Fauquier County. Wm Franklin Pyle’s son, Milton Shepherd Pyle, married Katherine Narcissa Dick whose parents are David and Elizabeth Dick. I can’t seem to link this Pyle family to any of the Pyles in the area. Do you have any idea if the Quarles book is still for sale. I just purchased his book 'Some Worthy Lives' when I was in Winchester last week. I'll have to find the deeds for Baker and Price as you suggested. I'll send Handley a note. John and Eliza M's son Charles W. married Emily Jane Campbell daughter of Thomas B. Campbell.
