I agree with Peter. The area is beautiful. The area has four seasons. River's into small stream made fertile farm land. Franklin County has never been a rich county but is rich in people, beauty of the area. The Old Carolina Road passed though the county. Scotch-Irish and German Imigrants came down south by way of the Shenadoah Valley and many made settlements.
