    3. Thanks Beverly. In 1980 we purchased acreage and an old farmhouse built early 1900's. The property is located on Turner's Creek in Ferrum, and it had been vacant for several years. I think we were only the third owners and I believe the original family was Sigmon. I'm thinking the second owner was a Ferguson who was in the timber business. It sounds like there could possibly be a connection between these Sigmons. I was told the family lived in a log cabin before the farmhouse was built. Thanks.......Donna >From: "Beverly Merritt" <beverlym@swva.net> >Reply-To: vafrankl@rootsweb.com >To: <vafrankl@rootsweb.com> >Subject: Re: [VAFRANKL] New book of Franklin Co. 3. Turner's Creek is just west of Ferrum, the road runs perpendicular to 40 about 1/2 mile or so west of the college. ----- Original Message ----- From: "gen42" <gen42@comcast.net> To: <vafrankl@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, September 04, 2007 8:08 PM Subject: Re: [VAFRANKL] New book of Franklin Co. 3. Donna, I'm sure there is a connection. I didn't think at the time, this might be her husband's family, not hers, she was a McGhee. His name is Gail and I"ll ask her where he grew up, I know it was right in that area.
