I am looking for parents/siblings of Silas PAYNE, b. abt. 1820, Va. and married to Mary SAUNDERS/SANDERS, b. abt. 1826 and married on 24 Jan 1847.   Mary's mother was Nancy SAUNDERS/SANDERS. Silas and Mary PAYNE had two children: George R. PAYNE b. abt. 1848 and William A. PAYNE, b. abt 1849.   William A. PAYNE married Mary Margaret STEELE, b. about 1847 and married on 6 Feb 1868. Mary's parents were John and Elizabeth (Fowler) STEELE of Roanoke Co. Mary and William PAYNE had seven children:  Alonzo, Erastus, Lucian, Loma, Denton, Grover Cleveland and Alma.  All resided in the Roanoke/Franklin Co. area (possibly Cave Springs District and Boones Mill). Silas served as surety for at least five PAYNE marriages to include:  Peggy, Nancy, Richard PAYNE (all children of Isham PAYNE)  Also, the marriage of Chenesse PAYNE (father Joseph) and Jubal PAYNE.  Some of these persons must be related to Silas, however, I cannot establish the connection.
