    2. Margaret Ramsey Richmond- Margaret Tyree Lovell Ramsey, 85 died Sunday, Feb. 18 in Richmond. She was the daughter of the late William Smith Tyree and Alwilda Virginia Law Tyree, formerly of Sontag. After moving from her childhood home of 77 years, she resided at Summerhill Retirement Community in the City of Richmond. She retired from Franklin County School System, where she h ad taught for over 30 years. A former head of the English Department at Franklin County High School, she held offices in both the Franklin County Education Association and District P of the Virginia Education Association. She was a charter member and first president of the upsilson Chapter of Alpha Delta Kappa, International honorary sorority of women educators. She earned a BA degree from Roanoke College in Salem, Va. where she was a member of Sigma Delta Pi and the Phi Society. She also earned a Master of Education degree in English from the University of Virginia. She was a member of Beulah Baptist Church of Sontag, a former teacher of the Senior Adult Men's Bible Class there and was for years a member of the adult choir. For several years, she was a member of the Board of Directors of the Summerhill Retirement community and was a memtor to the Bon Air Elementary School Students. In addition to her parents, she was preceeded in death by her husband of 47 years, Otho Draper Lovell and her second husband, John Stuart Ramsey, Sr. Survivors include Ramsey's sons, wives and children, Mr. and Mrs. Dyer Woodson Ramsey II of Richmond and their sons, Ross and Wright, Mr. and Mrs. John Stuart Ramsey, Jr. of Durham, N.C. and their children, Jane Stuart, Will and Margaret; on sister, Helen Tyree Gentry of Richmond; two brothers-in-laws, Rev. Clifford Ramsey of Richmond and James Talman Ramsey of Clearwater, Fla.; nieces; nephews; and great nieces and nephews. The funeral will be conducted today (Wednesday, Feb. 21) at 2:00 p.m. at Beulah Baptist Church by the Revs. Dan Agee and T. Ivey Adams Jr. Burial will be in the Tyree Family Cemetery at Rose Lane Farm. The family suggests memorials be made to Beulah Baptist Church, 4220 Sontag Road, Rocky Mount, VA. 24151 or Virginia Baptist Children's Home and Family Services, P.O. Box 849, Salem, VA. 24153. Flora Funeral Service in Rocky Mount, VA. is in charge of arrangements.
