    1. [VAFRANKL] DNA studies
    2. I am late joining the discussion re BYU and DNA studies ... and I have a few comments and questions. It is well documented that paternal lines can be traced from male to male using the "Y" chromosone. Also, that mitochondrial DNA is transferred from mother to daughter and thus can be used in tracing our maternal lines. My oldest Amerian lines go back to 1608 in Jamestown and are mostly European, possibly some American Indian, and possibly some Melugeon. Many of my ancestors traveled through Fanklin Co., ie Kirby, Owens, Davis, Hodges, and Shockleys. What is the original source who reports a BYU study of genetics for people with ancestors in Franklin Co.? Is it limited to Franklin Co.? Is this a hoax? J. SIms
