    3. You have come to the right place to find incredible people to help you. I am researching descendants of Edward Cochran. My line is through his daughter, Lydia. Thanks in part to some wonderful people in Franklin County, I just completed my 88 year-old mother's DAR application through Lydia with 36 pages of documentation. The will of Edward in Franklin County was invaluable. Through that, I was able to find in Casey County, Kentucky, a 1823 document filed to settle Lydia's inheritance from her father. The document referenced Henry Pemberton and Lydia as husband and wife and Lydia, daughter of the late Edward. I was also able to find the marriage register for the next three generations: Henry & Lydia's son, Thomas Pemberton to Anne Lane on 04/12/1830; their daughter Malinda Pemberton to George Wilcher on 04/24/1854; and their son John T. Wilcher to Bettie F. Wilcher on 07/07/1892. Preston Kendrick Cochran was one of the first settlers in Casey County. I would be happy to share any of those documents if anyone is interested. To carry this further for anyone researching the Cochrans, we encountered four Cochran "cousins" in Emma's Restaurant in Liberty, Ky., while eating a late lunch and it seems we're related to at least half of the county. I was able to locate a Cochran male descendant who agree to participate in the Cockerham/Cockram/Cochran DNA surname project and the kit was mailed the next day. Results will be interesting and perhaps we can see how Edward might have been related to others. Thanks again for the help you all gave me. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rena" <doreatr@rbnet.com> To: <vafrankl@rootsweb.com> Cc: <vapatric@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, April 29, 2007 11:24 AM Subject: [VAFRANKL] Welcome new subscriber > Syl Vaden <ed_syl_vaden@bellsouth.net> > > Please introduce yourself and tell us who you are researching. > > > Rena Worthen doreatr@rbnet.com > List adm. > http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~renaworthen/ > ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ > The SECOND Sunday in each month will set aside for a "Brick Wall" Roll > Call.
