    3. I would like to thank all the geographers who helped me out with my inquiry. Also, thanks to Donna Wilkes for her story on the source of the Maggodee Creek name; very funny. In short, this is a compilation of what you have told me and what I've dug up myself..... Maggodee Township -- It doesn't appear that the township political unit exists anymore, but it appeared to largely lie within the Boones Mill district in the northwest corner of the county. Maggodee Creek runs along present day Highway 220 and into the village of Boones Mill. If anyone can point me in the direction of a map for Maggodee Township, I would appreciate it. Retreat Post Office -- There appears to be some confusion between Rural Retreat and Retreat which I didn't sort out. However, one researcher graciously provided the following latitude and logitude: LAT N37d 02m, W80d 00m. I fed this information into the "advanced find" function at the http://terraserver.homeadvisor.msn.com/default.asp website, then pulled up a USGS topo map which showed Retreat's location as being 7 miles northwest of Rocky Mount as "the crow flies" OR about 3 mile northeast of Callaway. This location was confirmed by a number of others who wrote me. In short, Retreat likely was located within the Maggodee Township, which is what I had hoped to find. Now I can identify the cemeteries and old churches to focus my efforts on. : ) Again, I appreciate everyone's assistance.
