There is a marriage between James Ray and Susannah Chamber, but the date would be before the above James Wray was born. Marriage Bonds of Franklin County Virginia 1786-1858, page 191 Ray, James and Susannah Chamber, dau. John,Jan. 10, 1803. Sur. Wm. Stith. Does anyone have further information on this family? I am trying to locate the James Ray who was the father of Tabitha Ray. She was born in 1817 and married Josephus Meador in Franklin Co. The 1870 census shows a James Ray (b. 1805) with Susan (maybe Wimmer??, b. 1840)) with children, Josephus, Wall (Walter??), Tabitha, James, John and George. I'm guessing that this is the brother of Tabitha (Ray) Meador. I sure would appreciate hearing from anyone working on this lineage. Thanks from Diane
