Thanks so much to all of you who responded so promptly and with excellent information. The references you gave will help us a great deal. Incidently, Shadrach Turner had brothers by the names of Meshack and Abednego also. About a year ago we spent a week in Caroline County, King and Queen County, etc. trying to track down the marriage of Shadrach to Ann Pollard or Ann Hill. One internet source said they were married in King and Queen County. We found no evidence of this. Presumably John Turner came to Caroline County from Lands End, England in about 1720 with one or more sons including Shadrach; As most of you know, the Caroline County records of that period were destroyed. We did find an old Turner home in the SE corner of Caroline County. It is vacant and with large KEEP OUT signs posted! It was a long walk to the house after we got to those signs! We have tracked down the present owner, but have not made contact yet. Again, we appreciate your help. Dick Stabnow
