Dick; Have you also consulted records of Quaker meetings? A Cedar Creek MM was established 1721 in Caroline vicinity according to Hinshaw. There were other MM's not far, including Caroline MM estab. 1738. In vicinity of Bedford there are instances of Turner & Pollard which appear from time to time in the Quaker Minutes. I haven't spent any time on them. If John Turner actually arrived in VA ca 1720, I'm observing he must have had a reason to travel so far inland to a less settled area such as the Caroline area, and likely was there even before Caroline Co. was created in 1728. In other words, did he have a destination in mind on arrival? I admire your persistence. The references you gave will help us a great deal. Incidently, Shadrach Turner had brothers by the names of Meshack and Abednego also. > > About a year ago we spent a week in Caroline County, King and Queen County, etc. trying to track down the marriage of Shadrach to Ann Pollard or Ann Hill. One internet source said they were married in King and Queen County. We did find an old Turner home in the SE corner of Caroline County. It is vacant and with large KEEP OUT signs posted! It was a long walk to the house after we got to those signs! We have tracked down the present owner, but have not made contact yet. > > Again, we appreciate your help. > > Dick Stabnow > > > > > ==== VAFRANKL Mailing List ==== > Franklin Co., Va.
