Hate to bring the Radfords up again. But I was wondering the James Radford that is talked about in the Dr. Woods book, other then the book stating he was born near Jamestown, has anyone been able to find out where he really came from or his parents? I have seen him linked to the Redford (Radford) of Henrico County, VA and Goochland, VA and others. I have also seen him married to a Mary? Does anyone know were the name Mary could have been link to him as a wife? The only thing I can figure out is on the 1850 census there is a Mary with James Radford, Sr. The census shows James at 82 and if the census is right it shows her at 20. Could this be a daughter or granddaughter taking care of him? I have recently purchased the book Descendants of Francis Redford Emigrant to America 1635 By Frances June Redford Reid copyright in 1990. It starts out on the Redford (Radford) of Henrico County, VA. It does not fallow all the lines but I have not been able to make a connection from this book as of yet. From what I have read so far I don't think it is in here either. I also have the book Cockes and Cousins Volume II Descendants of Thomas Cocke 1639-1679 By Virginia Webb Cocke Copyright in 1974. I have not been able to connect here either (there are Radfords in this Book). My next step is to pull all the Radfords off the census and Tax list for VA and start tracing them from there, or can someone give me a short cut.
