Dear List: If any of you have access to the Raney Collection, can you look up the name of Silas Payne, b. abt. 1821, Franklin/Roanoke County, Virginia. I was told there is a reference to him in this collection. I am trying to determine who his parents/siblings are. Your help is appreciated--can't get to Virginia for a while to look it up myself.
