Duke: Yes, Thomas J. Young fought at Gettysburg. He is mentioned in the roster records of the 56th VA Volunteer Regiment. He was in Company "C" that was also known as the "Louisa Holliday Guards." Company "C" enlisted 9 July 1861 at Louisa Court House, Louisa County, VA for one year & was reorganized 16 April 1862. Nothing else is written re: Thomas J.
