    3. Just one more thought on this. In the narrative on the history of the Sontage post office in the Virginia Historical Inventory, the writer states that John Henry Greer went to Missouri in "the grand cavalcade of 1838". Anybody else heard of this? The Hodges did go all over, but mostly to Sumner County, Tennessee (Gertrude Mann documented several Franklin County families that made the same trip) about 1812. They show up all along the Kanawha Trace, but mostly clustered around Winfield, Putnam County, West Virginia. Ephraim and Abner Hodges went with the Godard, Dodson and Hollingsworth families first to the Norton, Virginia are and then to White and DeKalb Counties in Tennessee. From Tennessee, some moved to Illinois, then some of those to Missouri and Arkansas. Bob Hodges
