Dear Friends, I bought Wednesday a few books from Dorothy Cundiff, Retail Merchants and F.C. Historical Society. This is a few things I got: 1. Dr. Giles- Birth Records- this is great if you have family in the Penhook, Snow Creek, Pittsylvania County line, etc. etc.- the records are copied, it has parents full names, child full name. 1912-1932 span. 2. WW 2- Service Record book , reprinted. This is a great book also. 3. Warren Street by Darlene Swain- great book. 4. Various years of Yesterday and Today, Franklin Co., Va. by Retail Merchants each year. Many old photo's. - GREAT! 1982- 2000 ( I do not have the whole set but hopefully one day I can complete the set) ****************************************************************************** * ALSO, FROM: Henry Hopkins and BEVERLY MERRITT. 1870 and 1880 Census books. They have been such a great help to me. With a full name index , comparing the duplicate names and households has answered so many questions for me. IT is a great HELP. It took a lot of time and effort on Mr. Hopkins and Beverly's part. They typed, proofed, re-typed, proofed, etc. etc., the full name index is just a great help. If you know of any books that are about Franklin County folks would you please share them with me. I am sick and can not get out to do the research that I would like to do. So, I buy as many books as I can. I love the books and they are so helpful and it is so nice to have them on the shelf right by my computer and my research. Hello to all!!!! Your friend, Donna B.
