In the 1850 Franklin Co. census a Catherine McGhee, 45 yrs, was living in the household of Samuel James. Others living with Catherine, I assume they are her children, are as follows: Eliza McGhee, 14; Mary McGhee 12; Samuel McGhee 8; Sarah McGhee 4. I am interested in Catherine McGhee's maiden name, her husband given name and her connection to Samuel James. Was she just "living" with Samuel James or is she "kin".
