How about the following subjects: Barn Dances - anyone remember semi-regular dances at people's houses (and barns) around the country? Potato Holes - anyone grow up where you buried potatoes, turnips, ice, etc. in holes in the ground? Like to know how you insulated them, etc. Early engine-driven farm equipment - anyone have any stories about the first autos, threshing machines, saw mills, etc. that used engine driven power. How about the first tractor you remember...describe it; what make was it? Butchering Time - How did you cut/cure/use the meat? What types of things did you make out of the various parts? Movies - what was your first movie experience? Name some of your earliest "hero's"; how about the Drive-In era? "Courting"- how about early dating experiences....where did you go, what did you do? I am going on vacation in a week (to VA, of course). Will prob post at least one more story before I go.
