    1. [VAFRANKL] Saunders -- John>Peter Hyde
    2. I just posted: "He took inventories, along with James Bagby and George Owen in 1768 for my ggggg grandfather John Hyde Saunders Sr." I shouldn't attempt to do these things this late at night. I should have mentioned that John Hyde Saunders, Sr., was the father of Peter Hyde Saunders, progenitor of at least one group of Franklin/Pittsylvania/Henry Co group of Saunders, Judge Fleming Saunders being the most visible.... Which makes me ask if any of you out there are researching them. Supposedly John Hyde Saunders Sr.,'s wife was a FLEMING, and supposedly it's "in the deeds" probably in Goochland records. Not only did Peter Hyde name a son Fleming, but another brother, Samuel Hyde Saunders, named a son Tarleton (also a Fleming name). FYI, I descend from John Hyde Saunders Jr., who m. Rachel Bentley, d/o Samuel Bentley, d. 1795 Amelia Co. and Mary Weldon (probably...and like the Fleming connection we are dealing with a son named Peter Efford Bentley and one named William Weldon Bentley...Peter Efford's daughter Sarah having married Samuel Weldon in late 1600s...no proof, etc, just a couple of declarative statements in Wm & Mary Quarterly..aaarrrgh). The offer for John Hyde Saunders, Sr.'s will and inventory stands. As they are covered under copyright I can't post them here, but can forward them in a separate email attachment. Best Regards, Janet (Baugh) Hunter
