I have used for many many years, the parents of my Jubal Turner, as being Admire Turner and wife Sally. Believ this to be wrong, I believ that the parents of my Jubal Turner was probably, a Richard Turner and wife Rachel Ayers. Jubal Turner and Milly Ross, grew up in SW Virginia, and were the parents of: Whitfield Ross Tuarner, b. 29 Apr 1819, Henry Co., VA d. 11 Apr 1880, in Albia, Monroe Co., Iowa; + 12 Jan 1853, Franklin Co., Martha Jane King, [b. 5 Dec 1830, Lynchburg, Lynchburg Co., VA] Martha Jane King was the daughter of Solomon King and Elizabeth "Betsy" Turner, [d/o George Wilson Turner, and wife Milly Stone] I would very much like to find out more on the parents of this Jubal Turner, who I strongly believe to have been, Richard Turner and Rachel Ayers; [m. 19 Dec 1792, Bedford Co., VA] I know of a John Ayers, who performed many marriages in this area, was she a daughter? When this family emmigrated they stopped for a year in Kentucky, to allow the birth of Whitfield and Martha's second child, Elizabeth K. Turner, b. 6 Oct 1854, KY. The first child of Whitfield Turner,was Amanda Ellen Turner, was born in Franklin Co., VA. she died in Cedar Mines, Monroe Co., IA. Whitfield and Martha's third child was my grandfather, George Whitfield Turner, Sr., b. 6 Feb 1857, Monroe Co., VA. He died in an accedental shooting in OK, while checking out the area, 30 Sep 1895, Shawnee, Pottawatomie Co., OK. He died three months before my father George Whitfield Turner, JR. was born 23 Dec 1895, Appanoose Co., IA.
