Can anyone help me find the father of an OWEN HUNT of Franklin County? (and/or his mother for that matter!) Owen Hunt was probably born by 1759 or earlier - don't know where. He was married, I think, to Jane Turley dau. of Peter Turley of Henry Co. and was named as son-in-law by Peter in his Henry County will 6 Oct. 1781, proved 28 Feb. 1782. Owen was nominated as an Executor along with Sarah Turley, wife of Peter. Owen Hunt appears on a number of Franklin Co. records incl. tax lists and also in some deeds past 1800. A couple of deeds imply a connection of some kind to Spencer Clack and also to an Edwards family. Owen Hunt wrote his Franklin County will Dec. 21, 1832; proved Feb. 4, 1833. I have copy of his will. [Will Book 3, pp. 520, 521] In his will, Owen Hunt did not mention a wife. He named children as John W. Hunt, Daniel B. Hunt, Charles T. (Turley) Hunt; one grandson Owen E. Hunt, son of Daniel B. Hunt. No daughters named. A couple of past family researchers have thought Owen Hunt was probably son of a Thomas Hunt who was in Franklin County 1787-c1789, but no reasons were given and there is no known documentation to prove a relationship. Any answers or clues will be very much appreciated. Bill Hunt, Fairport
