    3. Hi Myrna! I am not going to be able to be of much help to you because what I have is just sorty of a inner & outer! I am FERGUSON descendant. John FERGUSON, said to have been b. ca 1753, m. Mary "HILL" on 21 JAN 1790 in Franklin Co, VA. They had several children born in Franklin Co, VA. Their second child was Naomi FERGUSON, b. 24 SEP 1790 in Franklin Co, VA, married Skelton RICHARDSON. They received their Marriage Bond on 14 JUN 1813, but beings it is a Bond recording rather than a Marriage recording, I do not know if they married exactly on that very same day or not, but the Bond is worded thusly - Franklin County, VA, Marriage Bond, 1813 - Know all men by these Presents that we Skelton Richeson & John Phybon are held and firmly bound unto James Barbour Esquire Governor of Virginia in the Sum of one hundred and fifty Dollars to the Payment of which well & truly to be made to the said Governor and his Successor for the use of the Common Wealth we bind ourselves and each of us, our and each of our heirs executors & admins: jointly and Severally, firmly by these Presents. Sealed with our Seals & dated this 14th day of june 1813 The condition of the above obligation is such that whereas there is a marriage shortly intended to be had and Solemnized between the above bound Skelton Richeson and Naomi Ferguson Now if there shall be no lawful cause to obstruct the said Marriage then the above obligation to be void else to remain in full force & virtue Signed: Skelton Richerson (Seal) John Plybon Witness Josiah N. (or M.) Dickenson. I tried to locate them in the 1820, 1830, 1840 & 1850 census with no luck, then someone told me that Naomi m. (2) Wm. L. POSTON of which I have no marriage bond date, but said to have been before 1825. So I guess that was the end of Skelton - so after their marriage, some thing must have happened to him. But it was said that he was a s/o Johnathan RICHARDSON & Elizabeth "TAYLOR". [If this is even true or not, I do not know, but I would think that they were of Franklin Co, but don't know for sure.] Naomi is said to have d. 5 MAR 1869 in Barry Co, MO. I tried Skelton with varied spellings of the surname to no avail within the census. I have no idea if they had any children or not, much less the real truth about when he died & where he died. I have not searched the census for this Wm. L. POSTON as yet. I do hope that this is helpful to you in some way! Have a Very Good Day!
