One of the very early counties. Borders Charles Co., Maryland, and Virginia Counties Prince William, Fauquier, Culpeper, Spotsylvania, King George and Caroline Counties. Formed 1664, parent Co. was Westmoreland formed in 1653. County seat looks to be Stafford according to the book I'm looking at.
