Good morning everyone, re: Franklin Co. VA Deed Book 8, p. 67, May 21, 1817 Henry Thornton and Mary his wife to Robert T. Woods, for $200., 100 ac on the head waters of Standley's Creek and bounded, in John Wards line, Daniel Prilliman's line, in Stockton's line. Signed, Henry X Thornton, Mary X Thornton Wit: Citizen L. Woods Hugh Martin Jeremiah Bowles Does anyone know how long Standley's Creek was, and did it flow into Snow Creek? My interest is in Henry Thornton. My best guess is that he had a daughter, Hannah Thornton who married William Bird, and that William and Hannah were living on Henry's land abt 1810. Marla
