Marshall Wingfield, Marriage Bonds of Franklin County Virginia 1786-1858, (Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc., Baltimore, MD,1973), p. 199, Elijah Salsbury and Keziah Ray married March 29, 1808 and Richard Pugh is recorded as standing surety for them. Same problem, same issues here. I'm looking for a clue as to shy Richard was involved with them in this way. I know that Richard's grandson, John Zachary Pugh, married a Louisa Wray in 1874, so it's highly likely the families knew each other. Just curious about the Salisbury and Wray families to understand Richard better. Thanks in advance for your help. Irene
