    2. Bev, I am interested if it has anything about Nowlin's Mill Post Office. I thought there was already a Post Office book? Also, I was wondering if the little town of Henry ever had its own post office? It is a great book but I can't get him to finish it. If there is any interest in this book I'll see if he will write the introduction, etc and I will make up some to bring to the picnic for sale. I'd appreciate any input on this. Thanks, Beverly > > > ==== VAFRANKL Mailing List ==== > Please Visit the Franklin Co. Web Site > http://www.rootsweb.com/~vafrankl/franklin.htm > >

    3. Hi, The little of town actually has a new post office, the old trailer was replaced with a newer, larger trailer. Unfortunately they don't have a working bathroom but there is a nice port-o-let outside. That is true, not a joke! The post office book Henry compiled contains the history of, I believe, every post office in Franklin County from the beginning of the county. It also includes the postmaster/mistress, dates, locations and some other interesting bits and pieces. He did a tremendous amount of research on this book and this might help encourage him to publish it. I'll answer a couple other questions directly. Thanks so much!! 3. Dear Friends: Henry, Va.24102 has been a postoffice ALL of my lifetime, and before that it was Alumine, Va., so I've always been told. My parents grew up when it was a thriving town, especially after the railroad (Norfolk & Western) was completed. There were at least two rural routes most of my life time. For a short period, my address changed to Sydnorsville, Va., though we never moved, just had a problem with the US Postoffice management. M.
