    3. Hi Everyone, Wow, I'm so happy I've had interest in this info. I haven't really had a lot of time to sit down and reply to everyone, but I thought I'd send a note to the list and tell ya'll what I will do as soon as I have time. Beverly Merritt administers the Franklin County Homepage and she has emailed me to see if I would like to put this info. on that website so that others can search it. I promise I will type it up for her as soon as I can. I have it hand-transcribed in a 70 page notebook, so it will take a little time. I can certainly do look-ups, but there are some names that have many entries, probably too many to list (w/out almost transcribing the whole book anyway). ( : Please continue to send requests and I will get to them as soon as I can, but I will also work on getting this info. to Beverly as soon as I can, too. I'm really glad folks are interested. BTW, Scruggs is in Franklin County at Smith Mountain Lake. If you are trying to find it on a map, look for Rt. 122 at the area very close to the Bedford/Franklin County line. 122 intersects with Rt. 616. Follow 616 basically all the way out and that is Scruggs. The road ends (pretty much) at Smith Mtn. Lake (area of the lake is called Gills Creek). The lake was built in the early 60s, and much of the land where my relatives lived is now under water or very near the water. Since I have become interested in my family's history, I have been saddened that the lake covers so much of their history. There was a footbridge over a little river (large creek, whatever) where my mother used to go fishing and I have a cute picture of her with a beau holding fishing poles.
