Thank you for looking. I figure some day I will find the name of John's wife. There has to be some information someplace. Virginia did keep good records, so some place, sometime, I will find it. I am trying to prove that John was in the Revolutionary War, and he was a surveyor. I did see a book years ago, that did say he was the surveyor for that "county", but stupid me, I did not copy the information. I had been in Franklin Co about 13 years ago and "proved" who John was, and his siblings and parents, I believe it was Gertrude Mann's research. And I took teh family back about 4 generations from John with the wonderful information that VA has. Thank you very much.
