    3. A number of years ago in the publication Franklin County:Yesterday and Today there was a story about this property and the buildings on it that talked about the old cabin that went back at least to the time when James Kemp owned the property. James Kemp bought the property from Robert Hodges in 1841. Robert Hodges disappeared from the personal property tax lists after 1844 because he moved to Tennessee. Whent he article was written the property was still owned by the descendants of James Kemp. I think that the cabin may date from Robert Hodges; ownership because in 1825 the notation "improvement added" appears in the land tax records. I think may relate to Isham Hodges' marriage to Sarah Harvey in 1824. I suspect that a new home was built, either for Isham, or for Robert and Isham took the old one. I would like to go by sometime and see it, too. I did get a message from a Jesse descendant. Bob
