As I have been trying to find my Martins, I have come across alot on Joseph Martin. Appartently he was a well-known Indian fighter and revolutionay War Soldier . I think you time period is off as he was born 18 Sep 1740. He founded Martinswille, Va. in 1792 in Henry Co.
