Dear list, I am sending this to all the lists I am on............ Are you having the same problem I am having??? SPAM and JUNK. I seem to be getting everything from credit card offers to SEX sites. I don't like it and this is a sure way to get a "bug"!!!!!!!!!! Most seem to have a fairly innocent looking sender...but if you look at the subject line you will get a clue....the sender is repeated, there are a series of numbers, or it will say "reply to John". I have sent most on to AOL but I find it irritating to say the least when my granddaughter stumbles into them. I do not go into any chat rooms or over seas sites. The out side mailing I do is to the lists. The rest is personal. So, this has to be where they are finding my add. Now if others are having the same trouble then we have it nailed down. I am not trying to stir up trouble but this really spoils the reason why we are here. And if you get a big bunch of mail it can be time consuming. SO WHO EVER YOU ARE .....BETTER STOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We will find you and pour water on your hard drive. Thanks for letting me spout off. Daundra in Berrien County PS..now you all know what lists I am on..think of all the times I have to hit the DEL key to kill my own note.
Have you ever sent or received e-cards from Blue Mountain? birthday cards and the like? That's where a lot of my SPAM stuff originated. :-(( If you've got Outlook Express, under the "Message" icon when the SPAM is open, there are some options ("Block Sender" and "Create a Rule") you can use to delete the vile stuff automatically . It seems to work pretty well. Only problem is with "To: none" Somehow when the "TO" is set to the recipient list called "none", that list is hidden some way or constructed in such a way that future postings to "none" can't be blocked. (I'd love a solution to that one!) I've found that, besides blocking the sender, if there's a website or a snail address or a phone number in the message, that's a good one to add to the message rule for things to be deleted. That way when they change their email address, you can still ax their messages. ----- Original Message ----- From: <Budblossum@aol.com> To: <VAFRANKL-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, August 24, 2001 11:33 AM Subject: [VAFRANKL] Question Re: SPAM, from Daundra > Dear list, > I am sending this to all the lists I am on............ > > Are you having the same problem I am having???
