DANVILLE, Va. Ruby Mae Law Adkins, 90, of 659 Jackson Heights, died Monday, July 30, 2001, at Roman Eagle Memorial Home after seven years of declining health. Born May 23, 1911, in Franklin County, Virginia, she was the daughter of John Wesley Law and Myrtle Allison Minter Law. She was married Dec. 25, 1940, to George Burton Adkins, who predeceased her. She was a member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church, where she was a Sunday School teacher for the adult womens class and a member of the W.M.U. She was a resident of the Mount Hermon community for 60 years and was a homemaker. Survivors include one son, Johnny Burton Adkins of Stockbridge, Ga.; one daughter, Dorothy Mae Adkins Wallace of Woodland, N.C.; one brother, Ray Fred Law of Eden, N.C.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was predeceased, in addition to her parents and husband, by one daughter, Elsie Myrtle Adkins. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2001, at Wrenn- Yeatts North Main Chapel with the Rev. Johnny B. Adkins and the Rev. Daryl M. Law officiating.
