    3. Sorry Carolyn - none in my many lines in Franklin Co. I am looking for info on ROBERT E. POWELL [Sr & Jr ~ both lived around Pennhook/Pigg River] JEREMIAH BARBOUR only who his parents were as I have the rest of the info; Nancy Allen Edwards m. Homer Hamilton Powell in Pitts Co, lived also in Fr Co - looking for info on her grandmother MARY ALLEN, mother of George A. Edwards - anything would be fine. I am also DAR, Jean Nicolet Chapter, Green Bay, WI [how ever did I get way out here?]. My patriots are Lewis Hancock f/o Lucinda m. Charles L. Powell of Fr Co; John Hancock, f/o Lewis; and George Duncan,f/o Celia who m. Lewis Hancock. Working on Robert E. Powell, Sr. and need proof of his marriage to Caty [Catherine] Tuggle, Middlesex Co, and proof of her death before 8/1811. I have his Will and Inventory of that date and she is gone by then. Also working on Daniel Coleman Edwards and Maddox/Mattox. Don't know whether there are patriots there yet. Any ideas, I thank you in advance. I have a large file at the Fr Co Historical Soc. which I sent earlier this year. 3. Interesting, Priscilla, I have cousins with the surnames EDWARDS, POWELL, and THOMAS, the last being one of my ancestral names as well. All are in some form associated with Franklin CoVa, as are most of my relatives. My mother's sister married John Ballard EDWARDS, son of Thomas Abraham EDWARDS and Druscilla Ann VIA. My 4great-grandmother was a daughter of Charles THOMAS and Judy PATTERSON. Her name was Mary "Polly" THOMAS, and she married John Witt NOWLIN in 1799, Patrick CoVA, and lived in Franklin CoVA. My first cousin Frances Christine HOLCOMB married Ira Glenwood POWELL in 1938. Her sister, Ethel Eileen, married John Maynard THOMAS, son of John Henry THOMAS and Bessie FRANKLIN. Unfortunately, I don't readily see any links that we can follow. But thanks for your reply. I thought we had something there for a little while. I belong to the Lynnhaven Parish Chapter, NSDAR, and my first patriot is Amelia CoVA native Jennings THOMPSON, who m. 1790 in Pittsylvania CoVA, Elizabeth STREET. I had the privilege of being the first to join under his name. Next I'm working on John VEST of Bedford/Campbell CoVA. Keep digging... we may find some roots that tangled together somewhere along the line.
