Franklin CoVA, m. 18 Nov 1794 in Amherst CoVA Keziah LIVELY. His father possibly named William Carolyn, The summary of the report previously mentioned reads: "It now appears that John PETERS, Sr., first settled in Albemarle County, Virginia, on the area that is currently the southern part of Albemarle County, adjacent Nelson County. He was the father of Richard, William, and John PETERS, Jr. His sons purchased land in what is now Amherst County in 1760, but John PETERS, Jr., sold his land in 1763 and appears to have lived in the same vicinity as Zachariah, Elisha, and James PETERS, in what is now southern Nelson County. John PETERS, Jr., was almost certainly the father of Zachariah, Elisha, and James PETERS. "Military records show that John PETERS, Jr., was born in England about 1730/1731. John BELL transported John BELL, Henry MARTIN, John PETER, John PETER, Jr., William PETER, and Catharine PETER from England to the colony of Virginia. Catherine was probably the wife or daughter of John PETERS, Sr. "The lack of probate records for members of the PETERS family leaves conclusions to be drawn based on this circumstantial evidence.
