Sorry I can offer only another thread. It seems to me the surname JOYCE is a bit scarce. But I did find a marriage listed for John C. JOYCE and Gezyah Stuart Dec. 11, 1824 in Grayson Co. VA. On the same list in Grayson were 9 JONES marriages between 1797 and 1826. Grayson County was created in 1793 from Wythe Co. and a part of Patrick later. Patrick Co. was formed from Henry Co.which adjoined Franklin Co. The geography is somewhat compatible but not exactly on target.
