    3. Sorry I can offer only another thread. It seems to me the surname JOYCE is a bit scarce. But I did find a marriage listed for John C. JOYCE and Gezyah Stuart Dec. 11, 1824 in Grayson Co. VA. On the same list in Grayson were 9 JONES marriages between 1797 and 1826. Grayson County was created in 1793 from Wythe Co. and a part of Patrick later. Patrick Co. was formed from Henry Co.which adjoined Franklin Co. The geography is somewhat compatible but not exactly on target. My source was Anne Lowry Worrell, "Over the Montain Men, Their Early Court Records in Southwest Virginia", originally published 1934 - etc. ask if you need more.
