I will summarize: 1792, Nov. 5. the Inventory & appraisement of estate of Benj. Duvall was returned to court and signed by Charles Lumsden, William (x his mark) Bozzle, ISUM (X his mark) BLANKENSHIP. Recorded at Franklin Court (blank month) 1793. 1793, Apr. 1. Will of John Chittwood witnessed by SUSANNAH (X her mark) BLANKENSHIP and John Arthur, Jon Price. Will was proved by oaths of the witnesses Franklin Court Dec.1798 and recorded. 1808, March 23. inventory & appraisement of personal estate of John Plyborn, deceased... includes a note from JOHN BLANKENSHIP account. Signed Mar. 23, 1808; recorded Oct. 8, 1808. [source: T. L. C. Genealogy, Franklin County Virginia Wills 1786-1812, 1991, pp. 29, 42, 82] The only quick observations I can offer are that "Isum Blankenship" and "Susannah Blankenship" were living in Franklin Co. VA at the same time; neither could write their names.
