Hi Listers, I found the abbreviation "Sur." before a name in a marriage record book from 1807. It reads: Asenath Arthur m. David Sink Aug 22, 1807. Sur. John Arthur. Does anyone know what the "Sur." means? Thanks so much and have a great evening!!! Rickie L.
