I am trying to verify one of the marriages of Joel Flora (b. Abt. 1836 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 22 Jul 1911 in Nebraska). There seems to have been three even though I cannot find any information on the third to an unknown Starkey. His first marriage was to Phoebe Jamison (b. 15 Jan 1842 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 27 Mar 1877). She was the daughter of Samuel Jamison and Sarah Webster. To that marriage were born five children: 1. Sarah Elizabeth Flora (born abt 1863 in Franklin; married to John W. Fralin, b. abt 1853) 2. Mary Frances Flora (born abt. 1864 in Franklin) 3. Lewis B. Flora (b. 12 Jun 1871 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 14 May 1926 in Rocky Ford, Otero Co., Colorado) 4. Elisa Flora (b. 1873) 5. Samuel Henry Flora (b. 1876 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 11 May 1961 in Stanislaus Co., CA) His second marriage was to Lucy Webster (born abt. 1843 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 11 Feb 1899 in Rockford, Gage Co., Nebraska). Her parents were John B. Webster and Elizabeth Akers. To that marriage were born three children: 1. Harriet S. Flora (born abt. 1879 in Franklin Co., VA) 2. John Joel Flora (b. 20 Dec 1880 in Franklin Co., VA, d. 1968 in Rocky Ford, Otero Co., Colorado) 3. James Franklin Flora (b. 18 Jan 1883 in Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., VA, d. 2 Mar 1964 in Rocky Ford, Otero Co., Colorado) The marriage to an Unknown Starkey keeps popping up, but I have no idea who she is and the marriage (if true) must have been before Joel married Phoebe or Lucy. Joel never married again after Lucy passed that I know of, but I could be wrong. I believe Joel Flora's parents were Joel Flora and Elizabeth Peters. Any information on this other marriage or the family would be appreciated.
