Hi Marla, Do you think these Orange Co Richards are related to the early Edward or Edmond Richards who married Elizabeth Stewart, dau. of old James Stewart of Henry/Franklin CO VA? Edward Richards was one of the earliest settlers on Chestnut Creek. And is this Ambrose Richards a Richards or Richardson? I have a Richard Richards who served in 1779 in Cpt. Daniel Carlin`s Militia, Henry CO VA. The BURRUS, HEAD and CAVE families moved to nearby Upper Surry CO NC. One Jacob BURRUS lived in Henry CO VA, see 1782 tax list, near the end. He married a dau. of Joseph Martin. Teresa Stuart de Rios "m.moore1 " <[email protected]> wrote: Orange Co. VA Order Book 1, p. 102, July 24, 1736 An account of trespass upon the case bet.
