Hello, I am new to the list. I have been in the archives most of the afternoon searching for some tidbit on Abarilla Dillon's parents. From the Braxton County WV 1850-1860-1870 census I found Abarilla Dillon could have been born anywhere from 1806-1810. She died by 1882 in Braxton Co. WV. She married Abner HOSEY b. 1804 Botetourt Co. VA. They came here from Franklin County, VA. Abner's parents were John HOSEY and Mary Magdelene COOL. They married in 11-28-1801 in Botetourt County, VA. Abner HOSEY and Abarilla/Riller DILLON had the following children; Martha HOSEY b.1827-28 m. Allen DILLON (probably 1st cousins) His parents were John Dillon and Jane_______? John G. HOSEY b. 1826 Reuben L. HOSEY b. 1831 Henry C. HOSEY b. 1832 Jacob Andrew HOSEY b. 1833 Archibald F. HOSEY b. 1836 Elizabeth P. HOSEY b.1838 Silas L. HOSEY b. 1843 John Dillon and wife Jane came from Franklin County, VA, to the Poplar Ridge section of Braxton County in the 1840's. Jane ______? DILLON is mentioned as a widow with orphans in the Braxton Co. court records by 1848. At a later date Joseph DILLON and Cyntha (MOSS) DILLON came to and lived in the Sutton, WV area. Martha________? (possibly a DILLON) BLANKENSHIP also came and records show that she was a widow with orphan children by 1848 in Braxton Co. WV. Does anyone else fit into these families, or know of them? Any little tidbit of info could break my brick wall.....hope so! Regards, Evelyn in WV
