Teresa, Marla....Benjamin and Edward Richards are on Nicholas Haile's list at the URL Teresa cited , along with Choates, Hills, Simmons, Merrymans, Rentfros, Mullins, Pybon (Choate fellow travellers) and our other fine friends of Franklin/South Bedford Co. area....I insert the entire list below from the above URL...these same folks are together in other Lunenburg (gg grandparent of Franklin or so) lists of Mathew Talbot, Phelps, etc. You can match these folks up with the first Pittsylvania Tithe list, etc. As always it suggests research back in parent counties...but these guys were early pioneers of Franklin/Bedford. They didn't physically "move" anywhere very far..(see also 1748 Bedford militia lists). Here's the list from the URL above. The Coles went to Richmond/Anson Co. NC then on to Robetson Co. TN and some to Carroll Co. TN with the BIRDs, etc. .. Marla, I'm thinking the "of Henry Co. deeds" may be related to these guys. Richards is not an uncommon name, but it does seem to dovetail with your other Birds of Orange Co. information...
