    1. [VAFRANKL] "Caney" INGRAM and Green RADFORD

    3. There is a story in my family that a man named "Green Radford" was killed by Elkanah "Caney" Ingram. Caney Ingram was the son of my great-great grandfather, William L. Ingram and his second wife, Margarette Emmaline Robertson. This event would have taken place before the turn of the century in either Franklin County or Floyd County. I'd like to be able to prove or disprove this information. I've found a record for: Greenville R Radford, b. 22 June 1836, d. 15 March 1890, but I don't know if this is the same Green Radford killed by Caney. Caney Ingram was b. 9 November 1872 Floyd Co VA, d. 18 April 1900 Floyd Co VA. He was, from the stories I've heard, a notorious and loathsome character. I am writing our family history and want to tell all the family stories I've heard about him. Has anybody heard a similar story? Can any Radford or Ingram descendants help me with this? Paula Kelley Ward San Antonio, Texas chachalady@sbcglobal.net I'm always late. My ancestors arrived on the Juneflower.
