Virginia Elizabeth Wray Brown Virginia Elizabeth Wray Brown, 78, of Roanoke, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2008. Preceding Virginia in death were her husband, Howard Wayne Brown; grandson, Joshua Shell; son-in-law, Gary Wilson; parents, Edgar Lacy and Mary Spencer Wray; sister, Edith Holland; and brother, George Wray. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Sallie Wilson, Lacy Brown and wife, Jennifer, Carol Shell and husband, Jeff, William Brown, Kathy Hufnagel and husband, Jim, and Bonnie Brown and special friend, Mike Grimes; grandchildren, Chuck Wilson, Cindy Wilson, John Brown, Tabitha Tyler, Samantha Brown, Cody Brown and Jordan Shell; a number of great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Helen and Winfred Brown, Mildred and Johnny Wright, Betty and Willie Wethington, and Susan Thornhill and special friend, Butch Gish; brother and sister-in-law, Jerry and Ann Wray; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008, from the chapel of Lynch Funeral Home with the Rev. Rick Poland officiating. Interment to follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 5 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2008, at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Lynch Funeral Home, Rocky Mount, Va.
